singaccord Congregation Survey
The ultimate goal of SingAccord is to enable congregation members to participate in musical worship. So whether worship leaders think it would be helpful isn't the last word. What matters is if congregation members find it helpful. To test that, this survey is designed for you to show to members of your congregation. SingAccord is designed for people to learn how it works implicitly, merely by watching it in use during a worship service. So to test that, you'll use this survey to show some SingAccord demos to a small group of people, worship musically with them, and gather their feedback in the same online form as the demos.
step 1 - pick your Volunteers
Pick between 2 to 5 people from your congregation to watch SingAccord demos and provide feedback. Pick 'regular' people, because that's who SingAccord is designed to help. Pick friends, other staff members, someone from your community group. Pick someone at random. Don't pick worship team members or tech team members.
Step 2 - pick a time & place
Pick a place at a time when you can:
1. See a large screen. Show them the demo videos on a screen at least a big as a laptop. Make sure that all the people you invite can stand close enough to the screen to read it, which is within 8 times the height of the screen. For a laptop screen, that's pretty close. For a large desktop screen, it's a lot of space. No cell-phone screen is going to be big enough.
2. With fast internet. Video streaming takes a lot of internet speed, and SingAccord needs high resolution to work well. Make sure you're not on a cellular or dial-up connection. Try playing some demo videos from our website ahead of time to make sure the notation is legible.
3. Make some noise. SingAccord is designed to help people sing along. Not only should you have sound from your computer turned up loud enough, people need to feel that they can sing without disturbing others. Don't do this in cube farms, close doors, and remove other distractions. And urge others to use this as an opportunity to actually worship through music as they can when they can.

step 3 - pick 2 songs
When you run the survey for your small group, it will prompt you to pick 2 songs to demo. Here is the list of songs that can be demo'ed, which are all watchable on the SingAccord home page. Each song has a different style / artwork / difficulty level. The goal is to pick a first song they probably do know, and a second song they probably don't. But it's ok if you don't know any, or know all of them.

step 4 - fill out the pre-survey
This pre-survey collects basic contact information for you, so we can contact you with results. We won't sell your information. It also collects basic information about your current approaches to music ministry, so make sure to set aside a few minutes to fill it out.
step 5 - Host your Congregation Survey
At the time and place of your choosing with your small group of 2-5 participants, start the survey and play the demo videos. Make sure you take the videos full screen.
When both demos are done, let each person fill out the survey for themselves. There's just 3 short questions per person. We'll batch results every few days and send them to you. We'll also anonymously batch results from all churches that participate and publish those results.
You can repeat the survey as many times as you like with as many groups as you like. For accuracy, we ask that you not repeat the congregation survey with people who had taken it previously.
